Wow, I've just noticed (in my archive page, a work in progress) that my last entry is currently the most commented. Thank you all. How do I follow that?
This was taken Friday in a bar just off of Leicester square, London after a very long day (that was just the first day) helping my friend Mark with his new holiday business. It's been an exhausting weekend, I was tired when I shot this, but still a good one. Despite my hesitation to post this, the subject (a champagne cork, albeit house champagne) seems fitting after all the comments on my last post and also because I've sold my house again (I lost my last buyer).
To add the colour to this I borrowed a shocking pink shopping bag from a group of Australian girls drinking next to us and put it on the reflective table top.
Addendum:
What was I thinking of shooting this at ISO 1600? See? I said I was tired.
Canon EOS 20D, 50mm, f/2, 1/200Sec, ISO 1600
Comments:
Clever thinking with the pink bag! Very nice shot, and many congrats on the house sale!! Might I have a new neighbour soon? :)
Nice shot. Maybe you were too tired to remember you'd left your camera at ISO1600 - but not too tired to think in good setups (i.e. the purple bag) :-)
Good luck with moving (I s'pose you're moving)?
Impressive shot -> and maybe this is the reason why I don't know where to start with:
The colour is amazing (even for a person who does not like pink); the title is very good - it fits perfect to the pic and the reflections make the subject more interesting! But I think (I am not 100% sure) I mostly like the details...

Hehe, those late-night shots are always fun. I usually end up with way to many that are trashed the day after. ;-) Did you do any post-processing?
