This was shot a few weeks ago, after the Thames festival.
We spent quite a bit of time debating what was causing the shadow on the houses of Parliament. It took us a while to realise that it was a separate tower; something that none of us had seen before from that particular viewpoint.

Comments:
A new point of view, nicely done!
(Coincidently, I've posted a picture of Westminster by night an hour ago as well! "http://www.verbeeld.be/2005-10-14/")
Kind regards,
Jan.
Heyyy - someone forgot to turn the lights on the tower!
lol
Very sharp and colourful shot shot Stuart. I always manage to blow out big ben when shooting nightscapes - youve done well to control it here.
Great shot Stuart- for some reason all my attempts came out blurred! Nice balance of detail on the tower and the clockface- always a tricky subject at night.
Chris- be careful with idle talk about 'blowing out big ben'- could be misconstrued either as another Guy Fawkes attempt, or as a bit of a 'Carry on' (ooer missus)!

I agree, city-lights are great and so is the feeling of the picture.

Creative composition. Using the telephoto to compress the perspective makes it denser and more impactful.

I quite like how much you have managed to fit into the scene. Definitely not the normal viewpoint.

This is another excellant nightshot with perfect exposure and nice colour saturation.
