Every time that I see someone composing such a shot with the screen on a compact camera, this idea springs to mind. This is one occasion where, after seeing the compact screen, I was fast enough with my own camera.
The concept was probably better than the reality; at least now I can move on ;^)

I was never a fan of selective colouring, but you are using it to such good effect I may change my mind! Isn't this another one from the beer festival? Perhaps it was the real ale affecting your vision! :o)
