It took me a while to even realize what this was. At first I thought it was a file drawer filled with magazines, then a bunch of trains now I'm pretty sure it's a canal dock full of barges. Am I right?

Great photo. Well seen - its all been said before - the lines, the colour, the composition. well done.
A question. Do you think the pier on the right is necessary for the image to work? My eye is drawn to the right corner and that seems to detract from the main interest of the image.

Your friend has a very interesting view! Fine use of the telephoto to compress the perspective and fill the frame.

Great color and lines. It was hard to figure out what the picture was at first, but that's all a part of the magic of it.
